So this might be odd, or rude to ask but when did you get diagnosed w/ AS? And what are your expressions of the syndrome? My studying of it makes me wonder if I might have it. I ask my manfriend but he doesn't really like to talk about his AS. I hope this isn't rude. I'm sorry in advance.

I was 3 or 4 years old when I was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder but considered to have Aspergers Syndrome as it wasn’t properly recognised back when I had my diagnosis (early 90s).

Some of my expressions of the syndrome include problems with social interaction and communication skills, social anxiety, lack of eye contact, sensory overload, like to do things in a particular order or routine, obsession with perfection, unable to cope with criticism or harassment, physical clumsiness, unable to recognise certain and more complex facial expressions and have a very-narrow focus on certain subjects, some long-term and some short-term.

Some people with AS are very open to talk about their condition making it easier to communicate with other people and some don’t as they find it hard to explain it due to poor communication skills.

If you want to know if you have AS or not, I think it’s best to be referred to a psychologist or a specialist in diagnosing AS. Though there is the Autism-Spectrum Quotient test (http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html) that you can take if you may have some of the symptoms (people on the Autistic Spectrum usually score 32 or higher) but it’s better to see a professional for a proper examination though.
